Fascinating Transalp with a stop at Hotel Die Arlbergeirn

For all mountain bike fans, the Arlberg offers a new, exciting and above all unforgettable experience. We would like to introduce this to you today and whet your appetite for a new adventure:

By bike 350km in 8 days, through forest and gravel paths, asphalt side roads, trails and short pushing passages. All the routes are surrounded by a fantastic panorama and the destination is Lake Como. A total of 6100 meters in altitude, that’s about 500-1270 meters in altitude per day and 43-82 km per day. The Transalp Engadin takes you through the most beautiful regions of the Alps and will leave you with unforgettable memories from the very first day. Popular and above all well-known places such as Ischgl, Livigno and St. Moritz are on the way. Here, it’s not sporting, but scenic top performance that is at the top of the list. The route is also suitable for “normal bikers”, i.e. a mountain bike experience of a special kind.

Total performance: 6100 meters of altitude, 350 kilometers

The tour could run like this:

Day 1: Arrival in St. Anton am Arlberg

The tour begins with your arrival in St. Anton. Spend the night with us at Hotel “die Arlbergerin” and relax in a quiet location until the tour starts tomorrow.

Day 2: St. Anton – Ischgl, daily distance is 43 km and 1130 m elevation gain

After a hearty breakfast from our breakfast buffet, you set off. You start in the direction of Heilbronner HĂźtte (2320 m) in high alpine terrain. On the lonely ascent to the end with a pushing passage, the route takes you down the dream descent to Ischgl. Spend the night in Ischgl and recharge your batteries for the next day.

Day 3: Ischgl – Nauders, daily distance is 54 km and 1200 m elevation gain

The next day begins with a cable car ride up to a fantastic 2760m. The main Alpine ridge is conquered and the route goes uphill and downhill. You reach your destination for the day, Nauders, after today’s 54 km. Once you arrive in Nauders, you can look forward to a good night’s sleep and recharge your batteries for the next day.

Day 4: Nauders – Sta. Maria, daily distance is 51 km and 980 m elevation gain

The fourth day also starts with a cable car ride up to 2200m. Via Plamort to Lake Reschen, with the legendary sunken church tower. Here you will discover a medieval church with a bell tower rising out of the lake. This monument in Italy is a remnant of a sunken village from 1950. Today ends with your arrival in Sta. Maria, after 51km you have clearly earned your rest.

Day 5: Sta. Maria – Livigno, daily distance is 47 km and 1270 m elevation gain

The overnight stay in Santa Maria ends with a refreshing breakfast buffet and today’s destination is Livigno. Too remote for hikers, the Val Mora presents a unique backdrop and vegetation. From Lagio di Cancano, the route leads to Alpisella. Then it’s down to Livigno. Once you arrive in the Italian Alps, another overnight stay awaits you.

Day 6: Livigno – Sils, daily distance is 55km and 1000hm

The penultimate day begins and you reach Pontresina via the Forcola di Livigno, the Val Minor and a high alpine trail. The landscape around St. Moritz accompanies you until you arrive in Sils. With small mountain lakes, rustic mountain huts and varied trails, you get closer and closer to your destination for the day, Sils. You will spend the night in Sils.

Day 7: Sils – Lake Como/Mezzola Lake, daily distance is 82km and 500hm

The last day of the tour is all downhill towards Lake Como. You pass waterfalls, cart tracks and small bridges until you reach the Italian border. Bella Italia lies ahead of you.

After today’s 82 km you have finally made it. Think about how much you have ridden in the last 7 days. You have covered a total of 350 km to now celebrate your finish at Lake Como. Enjoy the Mediterranean climate of Lake Como and the sunset with an Aperol Spritz in your hand.

Day 8: Today you alone decide whether you want to stay just one night or extend your stay. The tour ends today and a few days of relaxation are not out of place here.
