Sun skiing & music festival "Tanzcafe Arlberg

“Schifoan is the easiest thing to do,” sings Wolfgang Ambros in his après-ski anthem. And we also agree that there is nothing more beautiful than waving down the mountains on skis. We are particularly fond of spring skiing. Long days, warm sun rays that warm body and soul and perfect firn snow. Is there a more beautiful way to end the winter?

Tips for your sunny skiing on the Arlberg

Timing

The sun’s rays and warmer temperatures increasingly soften the snow during the day. On clear, cold nights, this moist snow then freezes in turn. This is how firny or slushy snow develops in the course of the spring. For the perfect spring skiing experience, that means timing is everything. The perfect flow is created at the moment when the frozen layer is warmed by the sun and “firns up”. Then it’s time to be fast for the perfect firn turns.

Sunscreen

The warm temperatures and pleasant sunshine are what convinced spring skiers especially appreciate in March and April. The sun has a lot of power now and that’s why sun protection is a must. A sunscreen with a high sun protection factor is an absolute must. Sunglasses should also always be with you – otherwise you’ll sorely miss them when you get to the hut at the latest.

Retreat

Speaking of the cottage. The stopover is especially beautiful in spring. Numerous restaurants and huts invite you to linger with their sun terraces throughout the SkiArlberg ski area. Germknödel and hot chocolate taste even better in the sun with a view of the mountains. If you need a longer breather, grab a deck chair and just enjoy the view.

Après Ski – Sun Terrace & Music Festival

The Tanzcafé Arlberg makes the end of a day’s skiing on the sun terraces of the Arlberg an unforgettable experience. As the sun slowly disappears behind the peaks, the terraces fill with life. The atmosphere is characterized by relaxed après-ski sounds that harmonize perfectly with the picturesque backdrop. Here, surrounded by the majestic mountains, you can end the day in style with a smile on your face and great music in your ears.
