Impressions from Die Arlbergerin

The Alpine sanctuary

Some places are better shown than described. This is one of them.

These photos capture what makes Die Arlbergerin special; not the polished perfection of a magazine shoot, but the real atmosphere you’ll experience when you stay with us. Morning light on the Arlberg peaks. Steam rising from your breakfast coffee. The way the wood panels glow in the evening. The view from your window.

We could write pages about Tyrolean hospitality and alpine charm, but honestly? Just look. This is what it feels like to be here.

From your imagination to reality

Die Arlbergerin & Pension der Steinbock

Two properties, both special in their own way. One modern and design-focused, one traditional and warm. Same hospitality. Same mountains. Same genuine welcome.

Hotel Die Arlbergerin

Contemporary alpine style in the heart of St. Anton. Design rooms with box-spring beds, open bathrooms, and those panoramic mountain views everyone talks about. This is where modern meets mountain—clean lines, natural materials, spaces that feel both stylish and welcoming. The kind of place where you appreciate the details.

Pension Der Steinbock

Classic Tyrolean charm just steps away. Wood-paneled walls, traditional furnishings, and the kind of coziness that makes you never want to leave. This is alpine hospitality the way your grandparents remember it—but with Wi-Fi and modern comfort. Smaller, more intimate, deeply rooted in local tradition. The view? Still the Arlberg.

Answering Your Most Pressing Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about your stay, bookings, and services at our hotel.
How far is Die Arlbergerin from the ski lifts?

Die Arlbergerin is located 700 meters from the Galzigbahn lift station—about a 10-minute walk. A free ski bus stops directly in front of the hotel every 15 minutes, taking you straight to the slopes. We also offer ski storage at the gondola station so you don't have to carry your equipment.

Is parking available at the hotel?

Yes, we provide one free parking space per room directly in front of the hotel. In summer, we also have garage parking for motorcycles and an electric car charging station (bring your own charging cable).

What's included in the breakfast?

Our breakfast buffet features fresh-squeezed juice, homemade bread and jam, Tyrolean specialties, continental options, and healthy choices. It's consistently rated excellent by guests and sets you up perfectly for a day in the mountains.

Are children allowed at Die Arlbergerin?

We're an adults-friendly hotel welcoming guests aged 10 and above. This policy isn't because we don't love children; it's because we believe parents deserve a peaceful mountain retreat. For families with younger children, we recommend our sister property Pension der Steinbock.

How do I get to St. Anton from the airport?

The nearest airports are Innsbruck (100km, 1.5 hours), Zurich (200km, 2 hours), and Munich (280km). St. Anton has a train station with direct connections from Zurich and other major cities. We can arrange airport transfers upon request—just contact us when booking.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellation policies vary by room type and season. When you book, you'll see the specific terms for your reservation. We recommend booking directly with us for the most flexible options and best rates; no booking fees, no hidden costs.

Do you have a restaurant on-site?

Yes! Die Arlbergerin has an à la carte restaurant serving traditional Austrian and international cuisine, plus a casual bistro. Breakfast is included with all room bookings. Note: The restaurant is closed Wednesdays in summer (we offer a discount for that day if you've booked half board).

Is St. Anton good for intermediate skiers, or just experts?

St. Anton caters to all levels! The Arlberg ski area offers 305km of slopes: 43% blue runs (beginner), 41% red runs (intermediate), and 16% black runs (advanced). There's also incredible off-piste terrain for experts. Ski schools offer lessons for every ability level.

What is there to do in St. Anton besides skiing?

Winter: Snowshoeing, winter hiking, tobogganing, ice skating, wellness spas, après-ski bars, and the legendary MooserWirt. Summer: Hiking, mountain biking, via ferratas, alpine lakes, golf, and exploring the pedestrian village center with its shops and restaurants.

What's the difference between Die Arlbergerin and Pension der Steinbock?

Both properties are family-run by the Kometer siblings. Die Arlbergerin is our modern 4-star hotel with design rooms, panoramic views, on-site restaurant, and wellness facilities. Pension der Steinbock offers traditional Tyrolean charm with wood-paneled rooms and better value pricing. Both share the breakfast room at Die Arlbergerin, and they're just a 3-minute walk apart.
