Dine where the locals do.
Hidden gem in St. Anton. The Arlbergerin is not on the main drag, not in the tourist guides, and not easy to find unless someone tells you. That is the point. The regulars like it that way.
Reveal the secret
St. Jakober Dorfstraße 11 — not in the village centre, not on the main tourist strip. A quiet residential street in the St. Jakob quarter, 700 metres from the Nassereinbahn.
The locals come here because the family has been cooking the same honest Tyrolean food for four generations. No theatre, no pretence. Just grandmother Roswitha's breakfast and Mathias's kitchen in the evening.

Aperitivo before dinner

Just a glass of wine
No reservation needed. Come in, sit at the bar, and order a glass. Austrian wines chosen to match the season — a Grüner Veltliner, a Blaufränkisch, or whatever we are pouring that week.
A cocktail after dinner
A short, well-made list — not fifty options, just a handful done properly. The right way to end a good meal, without having to go anywhere else.

An exceptional hotel experience in every aspect. Impeccable cleanliness throughout, an outstanding breakfast with a selection of premium-quality products, and excellent spa facilities. The staff is genuinely friendly and professional.
Great service and very clean and charming rooms. The breakfast is delicious and a beautiful wide spread. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner — the menu is loaded with authentic Austrian dishes that are so tasty.
My adult son and I had a wonderful 5-night stay. Location was very good — close enough to the action with a pleasant 10-min walk, far enough to feel like a real retreat. The food was excellent every single evening.
I have stayed here twice, both in the Die Arlbergerin and in the adjacent Der Steinbock, and both times it has been terrific. Poppsy and Mathias the owners are super nice and the entire staff follows suit.
