Deep Snow at the Arlberg
Powder Skiing in St. Anton am Arlberg
Where freeride was born
The Powder Capital of the Alps.
St. Anton am Arlberg receives more than 8 metres of snow in a good season. The terrain above the village drops through north-facing couloirs, open bowls and tree runs that have been skied by the world’s best for over 100 years. This is not a destination that markets itself as a powder resort. It simply is one.

4 Reasons Powder Skiers Choose the Arlberg
8 Metres of Snow Per Season
The Arlberg sits at the junction of Atlantic and Continental weather systems. When storms come in from the west, they dump on St. Anton. More than 8 metres per season on average. The north-facing terrain holds powder for days after a storm.
Terrain for Every Level of Freeride
From wide open bowls above the Valluga to steep north-facing couloirs, tree runs through the Rendl forest and the backcountry accessed from Lech and Zurs. 300 km of linked terrain means you never ski the same powder line twice.
Over 100 Years of Ski Culture
Hannes Schneider invented modern alpine skiing technique here. The Arlberg ski culture runs deep. Local guides know every line, every powder stash and exactly where to go after a storm. This knowledge does not exist anywhere else.
The Best Après-Ski in the Alps
Skiing deep powder all day and ending at the Mooserwirt or Krazy Kanguruh is an Arlberg institution. The après-ski in St. Anton has its own reputation. After a powder day, it earns it.

North-Facing Terrain. Cold Snow. No Crowds After the Storm.
The Arlberg gets heavy snowfall from Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west. When it snows, it snows properly. The north-facing terrain above St. Anton holds cold powder for two to three days after a storm. Experienced powder skiers know this. They also know to book a guide.
