A star walk is simple and quickly explained: We, the hotel “die Arlbergerin” are the body of the star and from our point of view each wandering is a single ray and goes in a different cardinal direction every day when viewed from the hotel. You hike several days to different places and the starting and finishing point is always “die Arlbergerin“.

Our house is in the village of St. Jakob am Arlberg, the perfect location for exploring the Arlberg in 4 different directions. There is no shortage of hiking trails, beautiful panoramas, huts, waterfalls and lakes. Your hiking guide, who knows the area, will accompany you throughout the week and, depending on the weather, will decide each day which of the hiking trails is suitable. What is included in the Star Hiking Week? You book 5 nights in the hotel”die Arlbergerin“. Included is our rich breakfast buffet every day and in addition you can put together a packed lunch every day to take with you on your hike. In the evening, a delicious 3-course menu awaits you, which our chef Jim will prepare for you. This way, you start each day’s hike invigorated and gather strength again at night for a new adventure. Of course, we have already thought about how a star hiking week could run and are happy to present a few hikes to you:
1. Wild Water Hike: Stockiwasserfall-Rosannaschlucht – Sennhütte – Mühltobelweg Easy hike – approx. 3.5 hours walking time
We walk over the Stocki waterfall, the Rosannaschlucht gorge and along the Wunderwanderweg trail to the Sennhütte hut. After good refreshment, we walk the beautiful Mühltobelweg back to St. Anton and on to the Hote.
2. Hut hike: KALTENBERGHÜTTE (2089m) via the Berggeistweg Medium hike – approx. 5.5 to 6 hours walking time
From St. Christoph we walk along the Berggeistweg trail to the beautifully situated Kaltenberghütte hut. After good refreshment, we descend via the Albona Lakes to St. Christoph and from there we take the mountain tuk back to the hotel.
3. High altitude hike: Rendlalm (1791m)-Alpenrosenweg Medium hike – approx. 4 hours walking time
We walk through the forest to the Rendlalm. After a good snack, we walk along the very beautifully laid out Alpenrosenweg to the mountain station and from there take the Rendl gondola back to St. Anton.
4. Alpine pasture hike: NESSLERALM (1600m) Easy – approx. 3 hours walking time
The mountain tuk takes us to Pettneu. From there we hike along the Rehwiesenweg to the Nessleralm. Then it’s back to Pettneu on a beautiful trail over the Hundskopf and back to the hotel by bus or mountain tuk. These were 4 hiking examples, of course there is much more to see on the Arlberg.
